17th-century Flemish oil painting representing the Crucifixion of Christ, with the Virgin and Saint John at the foot of the cross. Attributed to the circle of Van Dyck, it shows a prominent use of chiaroscuro. The composition reflects a Baroque sensitivity in the anatomical and expressive treatment of the figures. The work is of notable monumentality and compositional quality, characteristics of Baroque models from Northern Europe. The approximate dimensions are 110 x 135 cm. The painting is well preserved, with signs of wear appropriate for its age.
