Description

Work by Eugène Louis Boudin, a prominent precursor of Impressionism. This pastel on paper represents a sailboat in the port of Honfleur, capturing the atmosphere of a sunny and calm day. The work is signed in the lower right: E. Boudin. From the collection of Elias Martin Hardie and the Colnaghi Gallery in London. Boudin uses loose strokes and subtle colors to convey the lightness of the boat sailing. Dimensions of the work are 15 x 23 cm.
