Wrought and cast iron from the 16th to the 20th century: window grilles, balconies, balustrades, gates and grille doors, a well head, fireplace planters, door pulls and fittings, as well as furniture with iron frames such as stools after Schinkel, a cradle and a rocking chair. Spanish ironwork – Castilian, Andalusian and Cordoban – makes up most of it, with hand-forged 17th and 18th-century pieces and decorative 19th-century castings. Old iron usually arrives with surface rust or traces of paint; it can normally be cleaned and treated without losing its patina. Listings give the dimensions and, where the seller knows it, the weight. Each piece is listed by a dealer who sets the price and answers questions from the listing, which also shows an estimated shipping cost. Pieces more than a hundred years old need an export permit to leave Spain.
