Polychrome wood sculpture is one of Spain’s great artistic traditions, and these pieces were made for churches, convents and private chapels. Each listing records the period, material, condition of the polychromy or canvas and the dimensions, and the dealer who lists it answers questions about provenance and conservation. Prices are set by each dealer. Works more than a hundred years old need an export permit to leave Spain, and some may be subject to special restrictions, so ask the dealer before buying from abroad.
