Winfield rocking chair made of wrought iron and leather, originating from England and dated around 1850. This model was designed by Peter Cooper and was exhibited at the first World Exhibition of 1851 in London. It has a wrought iron structure with a leather seat and backrest. The dimensions are 106 cm in height, 59 cm in width, and 106 cm in depth. It features a functional design, originally conceived as a field furniture to facilitate travel.
Object history
The designer of the Winfield rocking chair (Peter Cooper) presented this model at the first World Exhibition in 1851 in London.
